El padre de la primera dama Cecilia Morel, Eduardo Morel, falleció en esta jornada a los 87 años.

ImagenEl ingeniero eléctrico era padre de siete hijos, entre ellos la esposa del Presidente Sebastián Piñera.

Este domingo se efectuará una misa en su memoria en la iglesia Santa Elena, ubicada en calle Presidente Errázuriz con Alcántara, en la comuna de Las Condes, desde las 19:30 horas.

El lunes, a las 13:00 horas, se realizará un responso y posteriormente sus funerales.

Por esta razón, Cecilia Morel descartó participar en el viaje del Mandatario, que en la tarde de esta jornada se embarcó rumbo a Atacama para asistir a las labores de rescate en la mina San José.

Sin embargo, pese a este viaje al norte, Sebastián Piñera pretende retornar a Santiago para asistir a la misa de este domingo en honor a su suegro.
