Un incendio se registró esta madrugada en el Regimiento de Infantería N°2 Maipo ubicado en la capital de la Región de Valparaíso, el que afectó al casino del recinto y las habitaciones del personal.

El siniestro tuvo lugar en la calle Gran Bretaña cerca de las 03:30 horas, donde rápidamente respondieron los equipos de emergencia. Según un informe de Carabineros, el fuego comenzó en el segundo piso del edificio, específicamente en las habitaciones del personal de planta.

El comandante de Bomberos de Valparaíso, Vicente Maggiolo, detalló que tanto el casino como las habitaciones "quedaron completamente destruidas". Y se "pudo evitar la propagación rápidamente para evitar daños mayores".

Las investigaciones sobre el origen quedaron a cargo de la Policía de Investigaciones. No se registraron bomberos ni civiles lesionados.
