El tenista serbio Novak Djokovic (1° de la ATP) vio frenado su andar en el ATP de Ginebra, en Suiza, al ser derrotado por el checo Tomas Machac (44°) en un intenso partido a tres sets.

Machac dejó sin reacción al balcánico a pesar que éste se quedó sin problemas con el segundo set, estructurando un marcador de 6-4, 0-6 y 6-1 que le permitió avanzar a su primera final.

El checo, que ganó de esta forma su segunda victoria a un top 10, tras derrotar a Andrey Rublev en Miami, enfrentará por el título a Casper Ruud (7°) o Flavio Cobolli (56°).

Djokovic, en tanto, quedó sin opciones de jugar su primera final de la temporada y ahora se enfoca en Roland Garros.
