De seis a 10 meses permanecerá suspendido "preliminarmente" el servicio de trenes Santiago-Chillán, específicamente desde San Fernando al sur, según informó la Empresa de Ferrocarriles del Estado (EFE).

De acuerdo con la estatal, citada por el diario La Segunda, la paralización se debe al mal estado en que quedaron varios puentes ferroviarios tras los últimos sistemas frontales.

EFE indicó que hay seis puentes afectados en el tramo San Fernando-Chillán y otros tres en el ramal Talca-Constitución.

Esto implicará la postergación, hasta que se recuperen estos puentes, del estreno del nuevo servicio de pasajeros Santiago-Chillán, con los trenes más rápidos de Sudamérica.
