La gimnasta estadounidense Simone Biles ganó este lunes el Premio Laureus a la mejor reaparición del año 2023.

Biles se impuso en el voto de los miembros de la Academia Laureus al futbolista costamarfileño Sébastian Haller, al jugador de rugby sudafricano Siy Kolisi, al baloncestista canadiense Jamal Murray, a la atleta británica Katarina Johnson-Thompson y a la tenista checa Marketa Vondrousova.

La gimnasta regresó a la competición el año pasado después de dos años apartada del tapiz para cuidar su salud mental. En los Mundiales de Amberes ganó los títulos absoluto, en suelo, en barra y por equipos y fue plata en salto.

Biles no estuvo presente en la gala de los Laureus celebrada en el Palacio de Cibeles de Madrid, pero envió un video de agradecimiento.
